Job responsibilities
- Drive delivery: Manage end-to-end execution of data governance initiatives (scope, plan, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables).
- Governance & reporting: Build and maintain concise governance reporting (metrics, risks/issues, actions, decisions) to support governance forums and senior stakeholders.
- Issue management: Identify, escalate, and coordinate resolution of cross-functional risks and issues; communicate impacts and decisions clearly.
- Workstream coordination: Coordinate data-related workstreams (e.g., privacy, data storage, data controls) to align with Firmwide policies and APAC regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory initiatives: Lead and execute data office-owned deliverables required by local regulators, including evidence tracking and stakeholder coordination.
- Culture & partnership: Promote a strong data culture across APAC CIB and build effective partnerships with Front Office, Business Managers, Operations, Technology, AI/ML teams, AI Research, and Quant/QR partners.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Technology, Data, or related discipline).
- 6+ years’ experience in data, finance, technology, risk, or governance roles within a leading financial institution.
- Proven capability in project management (planning, tracking, reporting, and stakeholder coordination).
- Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to tailor messages for different seniority levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work through ambiguity and drive outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management across functions, regions, and seniority levels.
- Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel; able to produce clear, executive-ready materials.

The Firmwide Chief Data Office is a business-centric team responsible for executing the firm’s data management strategy and ensuring data policies, governance, and standards are applied consistently across lines of business and functions. As an Associate, Data Governance (APAC), you will help drive the APAC data governance agenda across Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). You will run governance workstreams, manage delivery of short-to-medium term initiatives, produce clear reporting/metrics for forums, and partner closely with Business, Operations, Technology, and AI/ML stakeholders to strengthen data quality, controls, and regulatory compliance.
