DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Any), Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Application Architect, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires seven (7) years of experience with the following: Designing and developing high- performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, REST APIs, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, JavaScript, Unix shell scripting, Node.js, Apache Webserver, and Tomcat. This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Designing and developing distributed applications and microservices using messaging services including Kafka, JMS, and MQ; Architecting Java and J2EE applications using application, data, and infrastructure disciplines; Leading projects in a technical role by tracking status, conducting code reviews, and guiding team execution. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Designing, developing, and managing APIs using API management platforms such as Apigee; Implementing security frameworks and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth; Building and tracking projects using Agile and SDLC methodologies; Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; Managing version control, branching, and merge strategies using Git; Automating builds and managing dependencies in Java and Spring Boot projects using Maven; Writing queries and setting up alerts for observability using Splunk; Writing complex queries, optimizing database performance, and developing stored procedures, functions, and triggers using Oracle SQL; Modeling data using relational and NoSQL databases; Deploying applications and troubleshooting issues using Unix and Linux; Containerizing Java and Spring applications using Docker and Kubernetes; Designing and developing enterprise Java and J2EE front-end applications using cloud systems including AWS Cloud services and Cloud Foundry; Writing unit test cases using JUnit; Writing functional and acceptance test cases using Cucumber; Conducting performance testing using JMeter.
