As a Product Manager on the Consumer Branded Card team you will develop strong functional business knowledge and technical understanding of the segment’s family of products, technology platforms, operations, and servicing to assist in delivery of technology solutions. You will form strong partnerships with the Executive Director and cross-functional stakeholders to develop a product roadmap to deliver superior products to our customers.
You will be responsible for overseeing the discovery, design, and successful of delivery of initiatives. You will also ensure existing products in this segment are optimized in our agile environment. This role will involve working closely with Risk, Finance, Analytics, Data, and counterparts in Product.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand customer problems, convert them into problem statements and provide out of box solutions through design thinking.
- Work with data, design, and engineering teams to conduct appropriate discovery and be able to understand the depth and breadth of the impact of the problem to be solved.
- Contribute and lead the end-to-end ownership of features from ideation through implementation and through maintenance and support.
- Write initiatives, user stories, acceptance criteria in automation scripts and participate in all agile events of the product group.
- Develop business requirements in a manner well understood by the developers and provide acceptance criteria.
- Support effective product road mapping and sprint planning. Develop strong relationship with business, market, technology stakeholders in support of effective decision making and go to market planning.
- Lead and Collaborate with other product teams, technical architects, developers, tech leads to understand the technology roadmap for modernization.
- Develop, verify & validate end-to-end testing lifecycle support & outcomes
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+years product management / technical business analyst experience –including defining user experience needs, writing epics, stories, and acceptance criteria
- Direct experience working in an agile team (directly aligned to a product), mastery of agile practices and ability to work independently. Experience working in Jira and Confluence
- Passion for online and mobile technology, and knowledge of industry structure, trends and influential companies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: able to present facts, thoughts, and ideas in a clear, concise manner to senior stakeholders
- Highly-organized and self-motivated to help design customer-obsessed products, execute a product release plan, flexibly adapt to internal & market forces, and has influencing / relationship management skills.
- Able to achieve goals driven by optimal digital experience, product performance KPI, time-to-market, internal and external stakeholder satisfaction.
- Ability to influence and partner / collaborate to drive cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with clear structure and clarity
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in software development / programming due to the technical nature of the role
- Experience in user centric designs to drive the right customer journey outcomes
- Experience working with distributed scrum teams a plus
- Understand the card issuing industry and economics.
