Job summary

As a Payments Governance Data Associate in the Third Party Oversight and Governance team within Global Card Operations, you will find, collate, reconcile, and report on large data sets that support due diligence monitoring of third‑party payment processors supporting merchant acquiring. You will build and maintain data workflows and dashboards that help internal stakeholders understand performance, trends, and potential risk signals. You will partner closely with reviewers and process owners to reduce friction in reporting, improve data quality, and strengthen monitoring routines. You will communicate clearly in writing and presentations so data-driven findings lead to action.

Job responsibilities

  • Monitor third‑party payment processing activity to identify changes in behavior, emerging trends, and anomalies.
  • Compile, reconcile, and validate data from multiple sources to support ongoing due diligence and lifecycle monitoring.
  • Build and maintain complex Alteryx workflows leveraging Snowflake to automate data preparation and controls-focused reporting.
  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and metrics that provide timely, reliable visibility into performance and exceptions.
  • Research, document, and escalate potential risk issues identified through data analysis and monitoring routines.
  • Partner with reviewers and facilitators to understand oversight processes and improve analytics, reporting, and handoffs.
  • Produce clear written narratives and presentations that explain findings, drivers, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Track and maintain documentation repositories (e.g., SharePoint) to support accurate status reporting and audit readiness.
  • Maintain role-based system access profiles and update data procedures and process flows as the environment changes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that reduce manual work and strengthen third‑party oversight outcomes.
  • Stay current on relevant card network and payments requirements related to due diligence, fraud, and chargebacks.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Two years of experience in data analytics or a closely related role.
  • Hands-on proficiency with at least two of the following: Snowflake, Tableau, Alteryx, UiPath, Power Apps.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data sets.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including macros, to support analysis and process optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing, cleaning, and analyzing high-volume data from raw inputs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional stakeholder communication.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills, including building executive-ready charts and narratives.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze performance data in near real time and cumulatively, and translate findings into recommendations.
  • Sound judgment and adaptability when priorities shift or issues require rapid investigation and resolution.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience supporting merchant services, acquiring, or payments operations and risk oversight.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft and common payments/operations platforms (e.g., Titan, Commerce, QlikView, Qlik Sense).
  • Proficiency in Python for analytics and automation.
  • Experience automating workflows to reduce manual processes and improve control consistency.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working in a dynamic, data-driven environment.
  • Interest in financial compliance, operational risk, quality, and regulatory requirements.
