As a Trading Controls Review and Release Analyst in the Review & Release team, you review and action trade orders flagged for additional checks before they are routed to the market. You apply established controls and risk indicators to approve, hold, or reject orders, while supporting a healthy open-order population and responding to time-sensitive front-office inquiries. You operate with accuracy and urgency in a market-driven environment, including coverage aligned to regular and extended-hours trading.
Job responsibilities
- Review flagged trade orders and validate order details, account information, and control indicators prior to market routing
- Determine appropriate outcomes for each order (approve, hold pending additional information, or reject) in line with control requirements
- Support trading activity across equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), listed options, and mutual funds
- Investigate exceptions and escalate potential issues promptly using defined procedures and documentation standards
- Perform routine maintenance of pre-trade order controls within the rules engine to support a strong control environment
- Review and action pre-market control reports to help ensure the health and integrity of the open-order population
- Respond to time-sensitive front-office and internal partner inquiries related to orders, exceptions, and controls
- Track daily deadlines and cut-offs, prioritizing workload to meet service levels while maintaining accuracy
- Communicate clearly with US-based and local stakeholders through concise written updates and verbal discussions
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce repeat exceptions, and enhance control effectiveness
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English to support daily communication with US-based stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to exercise strong attention to detail and maintain accuracy under time pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, assess root causes, and propose practical solutions
- Ability to prioritize competing requests, manage deadlines, and consistently meet daily cut-offs
- Strong client service mindset with the ability to support internal clients and triage inquiries effectively
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, including concise escalation when appropriate
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, evolving procedures, and control updates
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Willingness and ability to work schedules aligned to regular and extended-hours trading coverage
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in trading operations, trading controls, risk controls, or a similar control-focused role
- Familiarity with pre-trade controls, exception management, and order review workflows
- Experience working with data visualization or analytics tools such as Tableau
- Experience using workflow and analytics tools such as Alteryx
- Exposure to Python for data analysis or automation in an operational context
- Knowledge of listed product trade lifecycles and order attributes across equities, ETFs, options, and mutual funds
- Experience working with order management or trade surveillance/control systems

The Review & Release role performs timely manual reviews of flagged trade orders across equities/ETFs, listed options, and mutual funds to determine whether orders should be approved, held, or rejected. The position supports risk mitigation and regulatory/internal control compliance, maintains pre-trade controls and pre-market control reporting, and responds to front-office inquiries. Coverage supports CWM Full Service and Self-Directed businesses during regular and extended-hours trading, requiring strong attention to detail, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
