As an Operations Finance Senior Associate – Expense Management & Analysis in Consumer & Community Banking, you support the Fraud Customer & Protective Services expense management team as a core finance partner. You own end-to-end monthly forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analysis for the Fraud Prevention function. You provide financial transparency and insights to empower operational teams and support disciplined execution against strategic priorities. You also contribute to transformation efforts and leverage tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, LLM, Tableau, Databricks (SQL), Essbase, and SAP to deliver reporting and analysis.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders and Managing Directors, becoming a trusted finance advisor and key resource for expense management and strategic insight
- Lead the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, tracking key initiatives and identifying opportunities for cost optimization
- Oversee the monthly forecasting process, coordinating financial reporting and managing annual and mid-year budget processes
- Analyze financial performance by evaluating variances, trends, risks, and opportunities versus budget and forecast
- Review and analyze expense transactions, providing clear and actionable recommendations
- Summarize expense performance and illustrate changes using Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau
- Consolidate and present month-end close results, providing clear variance explanations and actionable recommendations
- Create and deliver executive-ready materials and presentations to support senior management decision-making
- Develop financial and strategic analyses and provide decision support to Operations Senior Management and Consumer & Community Banking Finance
- Support continuous improvement and expense reduction initiatives, including introducing automation and minimizing cycle times
- Maintain and coordinate a calendar of deliverables, ensuring execution across reporting and planning cycles
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- 4+ years of financial or accounting management experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets and translate insights into recommendations
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint/PitchPro
- Proficiency with data mining, data gathering, and manipulation of datasets
- Strong attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
- Ability to create ad hoc reporting and executive-level materials for senior management
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner across Business, Finance, and FP&A teams
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while driving results
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in retail financial services, banking, or operations finance
- Knowledge of financial platforms such as Essbase and SAP
- Experience working with SQL or Databricks
- Familiarity with automation tools, LLM applications, or process improvement initiatives
- Experience supporting strategic projects, transformation efforts, or operational efficiency initiatives
