As a Margin and Collateral Associate within the Collateral and Margin function, you will investigate and resolve initial margin disputes across end-to-end collateral workflows. You will use quantitative analysis (including sensitivity-based approaches) to explain margin changes with clear, data-backed narratives. You will partner with trading, risk, credit, legal, operations, and technology teams to identify root causes and agree remediation. You will help ensure dispute outcomes align with governing documentation and agreed contractual terms. You will contribute to continuous improvement by recognizing recurring patterns and strengthening controls and processes.
Job responsibilities:
- Investigate initial margin disputes end-to-end, from issue identification through resolution and closure
- Analyze margin movements using sensitivity-based and data-driven techniques to explain drivers clearly
- Reconcile differences across trades, market data, risk factors, and configuration or model assumptions
- Document findings, decisions, and evidence in a clear, audit-ready manner
- Coordinate with counterparties and internal partners to align on root cause and remediation actions
- Apply documentation concepts (e.g., credit support and initial margin terms) when evaluating dispute outcomes
- Escalate appropriately when numbers do not reconcile, using facts to drive timely decisions
- Identify recurring break patterns and recommend process or control improvements to prevent reoccurrence
- Track dispute status, timelines, and deliverables to ensure commitments are met
- Support operational excellence through continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Minimum 5years of experience in collateral management, margin operations, dispute investigation, or reconciliation roles supporting derivatives
- Ability to perform structured root-cause analysis across complex operational and data issues
- Working knowledge of initial margin concepts and key drivers of margin movement
- Demonstrated capability to produce clear, evidence-based written summaries for senior stakeholders
- Experience partnering cross-functionally (e.g., trading, risk, credit, legal, operations, technology) to drive issue resolution
- Proficiency in Excel for analysis and reconciliations

Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple time-sensitive investigations
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience investigating initial margin disputes using sensitivity-based methodology (e.g., ISDA Standard Initial Margin Model)
- Familiarity with an industry dispute workflow platform used for margin calls and case management
- Ability to query datasets using SQL and/or perform analysis in Python
- Exposure to derivatives risk factors, sensitivities, and market data sourcing considerations
- Familiarity with credit support and initial margin documentation concepts and dispute timelines
- Experience operating in a controlled, regulated environment with strong process discipline
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
