As a Vice President–level Data Scientist Lead, you’ll take on a high-impact strategy role with clear visibility and ownership. As a Data Scientist Lead – Vice President on the Branch Channel Analytics team, you will lead our customer assignment analytics strategy. You will build and continuously improve how we identify customers for banker assignment, align customers to branch coverage using business-as-usual processes, and route customers to the best-fit banker for their needs. You will manage a team of three and own end-to-end delivery—from problem framing and implementation through measurement and ongoing refinement. You will partner closely with business and product stakeholders, translating goals into scalable, durable solutions. You will apply disciplined measurement to monitor performance, quantify value, and drive iteration over time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Assignments Strategy team to build and refine approaches to: identify customers to be assigned to bankers, execute and evolve BAU branch assignment methodology, and route customers to the most appropriate banker for their immediate need
  • Develop scalable, data-driven decisioning (rules, scoring, prioritization, and optimization approaches as appropriate) and drive delivery from proof of concept to production readiness
  • Partner with business, product, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, align on tradeoffs and success metrics, and ensure solutions are adopted in workflows
  • Build a rigorous experimentation and measurement cadence (A/B testing/holdouts) to quantify impact, calculate value, and recalibrate strategies over time

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 6+ years of applied data science experience, including ownership of production analytics/models and measurable business outcomes.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring data scientists (formal or informal leadership); ability to manage priorities and develop talent.
  • Strong foundation in statistics and experimentation (A/B testing design, power, bias/variance, causal inference basics).
  • Experience building classification/ranking/segmentation models and translating them into decision rules and routing strategies.
  • Proficiency in Python (and/or R) and SQL; experience with model development, evaluation, and monitoring.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with product and business partners and drive ambiguity to execution.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with assignment, matching, routing, or allocation problems (e.g., , case routing, workforce/queue optimization, recommender or ranking systems)
  • Familiarity with constraints-aware decisioning (capacity, fairness, coverage, service levels) and optimization concepts.
  • Experience with real-time or near-real-time decisioning systems and measurement in operational environments.
  • Strong executive communication skills and experience presenting results and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
