As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Job Responsibilities
Designs, develops, and maintains full stack solutions
Builds secure, high-performing APIs and integrations; contribute to service reliability, resiliency, and performance tuning.
Collaborates daily with Product, Design, and Data & Analytics to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver iteratively using Agile practices.
Writes clean, maintainable code with strong unit/integration test coverage; participate in code reviews and design discussions.
Supports and improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering automation; champion best practices in quality and developer productivity.
Contributes to production support: troubleshooting, incident triage, root-cause analysis, and preventative improvements.
Participates in application, data, and infrastructure architecture conversations and help evolve platform standards.
Drives adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, incident/root-cause analysis), while establishing measurable validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering production applications, with a strong focus on backend and UI development.
Proficiency with modern UI frameworks such as Angular or React (to effectively partner on end-to-end delivery).
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including building and operating REST APIs and microservices.
Experience with modern Agile delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban)
Experience with DevOps-aligned development (automated quality gates, release pipelines).
Experience with cloud and/or container platforms (e.g., AWS or Cloud Foundry, Docker/Kubernetes).
Working experience with databases: Oracle and/or NoSQL datastores such as Cassandra or MongoDB (data modeling, query performance, reliability).
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.
Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience with automated functional testing tools such as Cucumber (or equivalent) and strong testing discipline (TDD is a plus).
Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA.
Experience with observability tooling (metrics, logs, traces) and production readiness practices.
Experience with UAT and/or accessibility testing.
