The J.P. Morgan Chase Community Engagement team is hiring a Vice President, Market Manager to help the firm advance policy, business and community priorities through engagement with key stakeholders in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas. This position offers a unique opportunity to sustain and enhance a portfolio of strategic relationships with influential organizations, while managing a grant portfolio and leading on and supporting a variety of market initiatives across the south region. As a Vice President, Market Manager on the Community Engagement team in Corporate Responsibility, reporting to the Community Engagement Region Executive for the Southwest Region, you will be responsible for managing relationships and cultivating forums to promote dialogue between the firm and influential local stakeholders in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas. This strategic role complements and aligns with Corporate Responsibility functions, including Global Philanthropy and Government Relations, with the broader goal of gathering feedback from stakeholders and connecting on issues impacting the firm and its communities. The Vice President, Market Manager will have a thorough understanding of the role of large financial services organizations in the economy and the communities they serve. The role will require thoughtful engagement across communities of varying size and complexity, from major cities to smaller markets where local relationships, trust, and long-term presence are essential to advancing shared priorities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including community-based organizations, peer networks, associations and thought leaders, with relevance to the firm in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas
  • Develop engagement strategies that reflect the unique needs of urban, rural, and small-market communities across the region, with attention to local economic conditions, civic infrastructure, stakeholder priorities, and business objectives
  • Actively participate in and contribute to firmwide initiatives, including Heartland strategy and the American Dream Initiative
  • Deploy and manage a grant portfolio in alignment with these strategies
  • Design and host forums and events to promote dialogue and shared understanding between senior executives and key partners
  • Engage in annual business planning to align activities with firm priorities and community priorities, in partnership with colleagues from Global Philanthropy, Government Relations Communications and lines of business.
  • Work closely with colleagues to proactively address issues raised by external stakeholders
  • Track information from partners to identify trends and gain insights
  • Conduct analysis to inform decisions on strategy and investments
  • Represent the firm at events, fostering relationships that support strategic objectives

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in community engagement, policy, government program development and implementation, public-private partnerships, or philanthropy
  • Thought leadership and subject matter expertise on issues impacting the firm’s reputation and business operations, including consumer policy, financial inclusion, housing, workforce and economic development
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a results oriented and fast-paced environment with a capability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment; demonstrates a high degree of initiative
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; public speaking experience to represent the firm in diverse forums
  • Domestic travel, approximately twice per month or as needed

  • Awareness of the unique social, economic, and political issues across the TN/AL/MS/AR region, including the dynamics of rural communities and small- and mid-sized markets
  • Ability to make strategic connections between issues and stakeholders
  • Expertise in aligning initiatives and activities to business objectives
  • Keen understanding of the policy and political environment to advance the firm’s priorities
