As a Reference Data Analyst in Commercial & Investment Bank, you will lead the daily creation and maintenance of instrument reference data used across trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement, and regulatory reporting. You will prioritize team deliverables, uphold strong controls and documentation, and drive continuous improvement through data quality initiatives and metrics. You will partner closely with internal teams to resolve issues, manage expectations, and ensure timely, accurate updates across asset classes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain equity, fixed income, and derivatives instrument reference data using approved external vendor sources.
- Update and modify assets based on internal requests and corporate action-related changes, ensuring accurate downstream impact.
- Perform daily maintenance for securities requiring coupon updates, rate fixings, and factor updates sourced from external providers.
- Research missing or incomplete instrument attributes using vendor platforms and available reference sources to complete set-up and maintenance.
- Coordinate special projects including data clean-up, process improvement analysis, and metrics reporting.
- Plan and prioritize team deliverables and project work to meet agreed service outcomes.
- Ensure checklists, metrics, and end-of-day activities are completed, reviewed, and signed off in line with controls.
- Maintain and refresh standard operating procedures, issue logs, and project trackers to ensure audit-ready documentation.
- Monitor shared mailboxes and workflows, triage queries, and escalate issues promptly when required.
- Take ownership of problems through proactive investigation, root-cause thinking, and follow-through to resolution.

Build strong working relationships and communicate frequently with internal business partners to manage expectations and service delivery.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4+ years of experience in a financial services environment.
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining instrument reference data across equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively while meeting quality and control requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and disciplined approach to data accuracy.
- Demonstrated ownership mindset with the ability to drive issues to closure.
- Experience working with internal partners to deliver operational outcomes and manage service expectations.

Comfort operating in a controlled environment with documented processes and evidence standards.
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Knowledge of external reference data providers and platforms (for example, Bloomberg, Reuters, Euroclear, Interactive Data).
- Knowledge of middle office, trade support, or settlements-driven instrument change workflows.
- Experience supporting corporate actions processing and lifecycle maintenance (including coupons, rate fixings, and factor updates).
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and operational metrics reporting.
