Shape and lead a multi-country people strategy, enabling growth, talent and a strong control culture.You will lead a high-impact Human Resources agenda across multiple countries, partnering with senior leaders to help the business grow while strengthening culture, controls, and the employee experience. You will collaborate across Human Resources specialist teams to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions—from talent and compensation to mobility and employee relations.

As a Country Head of Human Resources at JP Morgan within our Italy, Greece and Malta country coverage, you will set and deliver the end-to-end Human Resources strategy aligned to business priorities and the broader people agenda. You will advise leaders and partner closely with control functions to foster a strong risk and control environment, while proactively managing regulatory implications for people-related activities.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the end-to-end Human Resources strategy across Italy, Greece and Malta in line with business priorities and the regional and global people agenda

  • Partner closely with the Senior Country Officer, business leaders, and control functions (including Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Global Security and Investigations) to set priorities and deliver solutions

  • Provide oversight for Human Resources services end-to-end across the covered countries, ensuring a scalable and sustainable operating model

  • Collaborate with specialist Human Resources teams (such as talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, mobility, employee relations, and oversight) to deliver effective people processes and solutions

  • Lead issue escalation and resolution by reviewing critical Human Resources processes with subject matter experts and driving timely remediation

  • Lead and develop a small local team, and provide supervisory coverage for other local Human Resources colleagues as needed

  • Consult on employee relations, leadership development, succession planning, recruitment, organizational design, and employee advocacy to support leaders and teams

  • Engage and negotiate with employee representative bodies (including works councils and, where required, unions) and manage external vendor relationships

  • Represent Human Resources in key local committees and forums, and sponsor change initiatives to improve ways of working and digital adoption

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrated working knowledge across multiple Human Resources disciplines (for example, talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, mobility, and governance)

  • Strong knowledge of local employment law and local market practices across the covered countries

  • Experience operating effectively in a multinational, matrixed environment

  • Deep understanding of risk and controls and the ability to maintain a robust control environment within Human Resources activities

  • Proven ability to partner across all levels of leadership and staff, building strong working relationships in complex environments

  • Fluency in Italian and English

  • Demonstrated consulting, influencing, coaching, negotiating, and conflict management skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations quickly and make sound judgments

  • Excellent communication skills, cultural awareness, empathy, and interpersonal effectiveness

  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple demands under pressure

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Human Resources experience in banking or financial services

  • Experience engaging with regulators and advising on regulatory considerations impacting people-related processes

  • Experience partnering with works councils and, where applicable, union representatives

  • Track record of leading or overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder change or transformation initiatives (for example, policy rollouts, operating model improvements, or country-specific regulatory changes)
