Asset Management, Securitized Private Credit Analyst - Associate/Vice President

JP Morgan Investment Management has an immediate need for a Securitized Private Credit Analyst in its Global Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities Group. The position is part of the firm’s Global Securitized Credit team, which collectively manages the firm's investments in Asset-Backed Securities, Collateralized Loan Obligations, Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities, Non-Agency Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities, and Asset-Backed Commercial Paper across several strategies.
This person will help manage internal and external relationships involved in the investment and underwriting process including identifying investment opportunities across the Securitized Credit/Asset Based Finance space, across all securitized credit sectors. This person will be a key member of the investment team, working closely with the Private Credit Portfolio Managers and the Investment Committee on underwriting, due diligence and making relative value investment decisions. This person will work with team members across functions, including investment research, portfolio management, investment specialists and sales professionals; and will work across the firm to further develop and nurture relationships.
Job Responsibilities
- Help manage and build relationships within and across JPMorgan, issuers, investment bankers, legal and other third party partners
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Investment Committee to understand portfolio positioning, investment philosophy, process, credit culture and portfolio construction, and use that understanding to work on and facilitate transaction pipeline
- Be a key member of investment teams, providing market and borrower insights to the investment process, helping drive the timeline and provide feedback along the way
- Participate in the underwriting, structuring, negotiation, pricing and closing of private ABF transactions
- 3-5+ years of experience in an origination, credit, and/or capital markets role
Draft credit memorandums and construct credit models for new transactions
Monitor and produce surveillance reports on the performance of existing transactions in the portfolio
Analyze collateral performance data and corporate financial statements as part of transaction analysis
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Prior experience in buy-side credit investing strongly preferred; or prior experience in investment banking
- Strong understanding of ABF credit and legal terminology, markets, underwriting corporate/securitized credit, including experience in credit and legal documentation and covenant analysis
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with coding as well as knowledge of Intex and/or Trepp a plus
- Demonstrated team player, with experience working across functions
- Preferred location either Columbus or New York; willingness to travel is important from either location
