In this role, your primary mandate will be to provide Common Process Control Support and Uplift across Asset & Wealth Management, with secondary support for the Acquisitions & Strategic Investments (ASI) control lifecycle.

As a Senior Associate Control Manager within the Asset and Wealth Management organization, you are empowered to add impact from day one. You will partner with business and functional teams to perform risk analysis, design sustainable controls, identify and escalate issues, and develop creative, practical solutions that strengthen the firm’s overall control environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to identify and assess risks.
  • Identify control gaps and develop and drive actions to remediate.
  • Design sustainable controls to mitigate operational risks.
  • Lead or support control program projects, addressing regulatory compliance and key risks.
  • Review and provide program data (such as KRI/KPI) to create reports that support business decisions
  • Use analytics and AI/LLM capabilities to anticipate trends and deliver solutions that elevate the risk and control environment.
  • Take active ownership of Common Process Control Support & Uplift by supporting the identification, documentation, and standardization of controls across common processes, and support the ASI lifecycle as a secondary responsibility.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 5+ years in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or other relevant experience within financial services.*
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.*
  • Change Management: Uses change management resources, helps minimize disruption, supports stakeholders through moderate change, and escalates complex matters when needed.
  • Stakeholder Management: Builds working relationships across business, operations, technology, audit, and compliance through shared accountability. Aligns on competing priorities by managing conflict constructively and negotiating scope, timelines, and risk decisions.
  • Communication Skills (written and verbal): Communicates clear and concise messaging tailored to the specific audience. Actively listens and summarizes discussions to drive alignment.
  • Critical & Strategic Thinking: Analyzes routine and moderately complex data, critically evaluates information and alternatives, identifies key issues and patterns, engages stakeholders, and delivers timely, fact-based decisions while assisting others with analytical tasks.
  • Teamwork: Accepts responsibility for individual and team outcomes, collaborates across functions and across a broad range of programs, promotes an inclusive environment, and works productively with peers and stakeholders.

  • Regulatory Requirements: Demonstrates understanding of, and can apply, current industry/market practices and regulations applicable to the business.
  • Business Acumen: Understands AWM's business model, products, services, client journey, operating model, relevant regulations, and where value and risk are created across the end-to-end process.
  • Process Optimization / Reengineering: Challenges legacy ways of working to deliver practical changes and propose workflows to reduce manual touchpoints, errors, and control gaps.
  • Technology and AI Literacy: Leverages emerging technology and AI tools to analyze risk, support control objectives and propose solutions (with appropriate controls); stays current on risks that can arise from ever-evolving technology. Partners effectively with AI/tech teams.
