We are the Latin America commodities derivatives sales team within a leading global commodities derivatives franchise, with capabilities across energy, metals, and agricultural products. We partner closely with our Latin America investment banking teams (Corporate Banking, M&A, ECM/DCM) and global markets partners (e.g., FX and Rates) to help governments, corporates, and financial institutions manage commodity price risk through hedging solutions.

This Analyst (Year 1) role is based in São Paulo and will focus primarily on Brazilian clients, with broader Latin America coverage as needed.

Job responsibilities:

  • Support senior sales coverage in São Paulo and New York by preparing client materials, market updates, pitch decks, and briefing notes.
  • Assist in developing hedging proposals: gather client exposure information, run scenario analyses, summarize trade-offs, and help tailor structures (e.g., swaps, options) under guidance.
  • Support trade execution and post-trade processes: coordinate internal workflows across trading/structuring, risk, legal/compliance, and operations; track approvals, documentation status, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain and improve internal coverage and pipeline tracking (client activity, opportunities, call reports, and next steps).
  • Monitor commodities markets daily (price moves, key drivers, and events) and communicate concise, actionable updates to the team.

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills:

  • Strong analytical, finance, and communication skills; ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, client-ready messages.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
  • High ownership mindset: proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Strong integrity and comfort operating in a controlled environment (documentation discipline, policies, and conduct standards).

Preferred qualifications qualifications, capabilities & skills:

  • Internship or prior experience in commodities and/or derivatives (sales, trading, structuring, risk, or analytics) is a plus.
  • Interest in commodity sectors relevant to Brazil/Latin America (energy, agriculture, metals/mining).
  • Familiarity with credit analysis and corporate finance.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Coding and/or strong familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
  • Spanish is a plus.
