As a Global Real Estate Lawyer – Vice President in Global Real Estate Legal Team. In this role you will support the Global Real Estate business with a primary focus on the EMEA portfolio, advising on a wide range of real estate transactions and construction matters. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders, and lead and manage outside counsel to deliver transactions and projects efficiently and consistently across the region.

Job Responsibilities
- Structure, draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of real estate and construction agreements, including leases (corporate occupier), amendments, renewals, surrenders, licences, MOUs/LOIs, purchase/sale documentation (where applicable), and ancillary commercial arrangements.
- Draft and negotiate construction and project documentation, including consultant appointments and construction contracts (as applicable), and advise on procurement strategy and contracting approach in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain, update, and drive adoption of standardized design and construction templates across EMEA, including playbooks/negotiation guidance and escalation protocols.
- Provide practical, risk-based legal advice to the business and senior stakeholders on real estate and construction risks (including change control, delay, defects, payment/security, H&S interfaces, and dispute avoidance).
- Partner with internal stakeholders to manage and resolve real estate and construction-related disputes and pre-litigation matters, and support litigation strategy where needed.
- Select, instruct, and oversee outside counsel across multiple EMEA jurisdictions for transactions, construction matters, disputes, and specialist advice.
- Set scope, deliverables, and timelines; establish clear communication and escalation paths; review and challenge legal advice and work product to ensure it is commercially practical, consistent with JPMorganChase risk appetite, and aligned to internal standards.
- Actively manage budgets/fee arrangements (including alternative fee proposals where appropriate) and monitor spend against matter plans.
- Drive efficiency and consistency through template use, playbooks, lessons learned, and post-matter feedback.
- Collaborate closely with Global Real Estate, procurement, risk/compliance, controls, and other internal partners to deliver outcomes consistent with JPMorganChase policies and procedures.
- Provide legal support on other projects and initiatives as needed across the Global Real Estate Legal Team.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Qualified lawyer
- 6+ years PQE (or equivalent) gained in-house and/or in private practice, with significant experience advising on real estate transactions and construction/project matters.
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and real estate agreements,
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to business stakeholders, including on risk identification, escalation, and mitigation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple transactions/projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, with strong judgment and prioritization.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Meaningful experience partnering with (and navigating) risk, compliance, and controls frameworks in a regulated environment.
- Strong experience managing outside counsel, including scoping, supervising workstreams, and driving quality, consistency, and cost discipline.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Qualified lawyer (preference for England & Wales and/or Germany),
- Work experience ideally across multiple jurisdictions with a focus on EMEA.
