As a Technical Implementation Manager in merchant services technology, you will lead client and partner integrations by providing technical consultation, coordinating end-to-end testing, and driving implementation milestones from kickoff through conversion. You’ll collaborate closely with clients to understand business requirements, troubleshoot issues, and help enable high-quality payment transaction processing.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical resource for client implementations for mid-sized merchants and third-party integrators.
- Advise clients on supported connectivity options, communication protocols, transaction formats, and product functionality.
- Lead integration testing to confirm implementations meet product, connectivity, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze data transmitted to test environments or self-testing tools and communicate results, findings, and next steps to clients.
- Diagnose issues and coordinate fixes with clients in a timely and professional manner, including technical conference calls as needed.
- Manage technical conversions for new and existing clients from their current processing environment to firm-supported platforms.
- Mentor analysts and support knowledge-sharing across team members working on integration projects.
- Partner with sales consultants and subject matter experts during calls requiring advanced technical consultation.
- Support complex integrations that may include EMV (chip card) certification activities with card brands.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 5 years of experience in a technical role (for example: networking, technical support, quality assurance, sales engineering, or business analysis), including 3 years in card payment processing.
- 2 years of experience diagnosing complex issues across applications, data messages, and network connectivity.
- 1 year of experience with connectivity and protocols such as multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), virtual private networks (VPN), internet and cloud connectivity, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), and Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS).
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply technical product specifications (transaction and file-based).
- Working knowledge of standard operating procedures and quality control practices, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate risks and identify potential issues early.
- Ability to prioritize effectively with low-to-moderate supervision and handle escalations in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting point-of-sale (POS) integrations and merchant payment workflows.
- Experience supporting EMV (chip card) certification or similar card-brand testing activities.
- Ability to identify, implement, govern, and scale AI/automation solutions that drive business outcomes.
Additional Information
- Work Schedule: You must be willing to work during operating hours on the night shift aligned to North America business hours, with the understanding that your schedule may change based on business needs, including holidays and weekends.
- You will be required to attend training onsite, regardless of your work location. Your schedule and work location will be established based on business needs (for example: working onsite, at your home office, or a combination of both).
