Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for a Intranet Experience & Operations Specialist to join our Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office! This is not a remote position. In this role, you will shape and support the company's internal communications strategy with a focus on optimizing our SharePoint-based intranet. Kimley-Horn is looking for a collaborative, curious, and data-driven team member with a strong interest in internal digital strategy, UX, and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and continuously improve intranet strategy to support growth, usability, and long-term effectiveness.
- Establish clear goals and monitor KPIs related to engagement, search performance, and content quality.
- Use analytics tools to gather, interpret, and deliver monthly reports on page metrics, document usage, search trends, and user experience insights.
- Conduct site audits, update metadata, and identify opportunities for UX enhancement and content improvement.
- Lead discovery sessions with internal stakeholders to assess site performance, gather requirements, and identify enhancements.
- Partner with Internal Comms to recommend content curation strategies informed by data, stakeholder needs, and industry best practices.
- Improve front-end UX based on data-driven insights while applying back-end technical updates.
- Test new features or updates, perform quality control reviews, and help troubleshoot issues.
- Assist with broader web and digital communication initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Technologies, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in an Intranet (SharePoint) Operations role or similar digital communications position.
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft SharePoint intranet environment.
- Experience building and managing intranet sites and pages using out‑of‑the‑box SharePoint webparts.
- Strong understanding of intranet UX concepts, navigation, and search optimization.
- Experience performing content audits and developing strategies for content lifecycle management and search improvements.
- Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools such as SharePoint Analytics, Power BI, CardioLog, or similar platforms.
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Sitecore, Drupal) and digital analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Looker Studio, HotJar) is a plus.
- Experience with HTML/CSS is a plus.
- Communications or digital marketing experience in the AEC industry is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving, critical thinking, and managing multiple priorities.
- Reliable time‑management skills and comfort working independently or collaboratively.
