Job Description
Expected to contribute to or lead the specification and development of software requirements based on the engineer's area of concentration (data computing, image processing, machine learning, big data handling, hardware integration) or varying level of project complexity and risk for the organization. Able to independently design and integrate subsystem requirements, to define gaps or defects within the system, and provide support for the definition and implementation of subsystem requirements. Act as an advisor to senior level contributors and managers on defect resolution, prototyping, simulation, and integration of software products.
Has a thorough understanding of multi-threaded, multi process, and distributed software design principles, big data handling, database tool, machine learning. Has a practical and theoretical knowledge and understanding of design for areas such as optimization of performance, maintainability, diagnostics, serviceability, quality, reliability, etc
Able to provide input to allocate software requirements to subsystems. Develop software design and implement them on a subsystem. Incorporates practical knowledge on S/W applications within image quality enhancement, defect detection and classification (with classic algorithm and machine learning), as well as machine control. Provides input to resolve complex problems related to predictive analytics, high performance computing, deep learning.
Expected to contribute to or lead the specification and development of products within the software lifecycle. Able to setup and drive small team efforts that address product-level issues, Potential to develop the necessary leadership skills and be a part of change initiative when required for key corporate, functional, and/or group initiatives.
Able to communicate effectively with peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, with customers, vendors and across cultures.
Supports problem solving on medium complexity systems and subsystems. Able to support the detailed analysis and trade-offs for the various solutions. As a team member, supports the problem solving of complex issues. Has very good problem-solving ability. Able to uncover root cause and to devise or to drive a team to define solutions for complex problems.
Minimum Qualifications
