The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
An Install Engineer works under supervision from Managers or senior IE's, but independently follows documented procedures and exercises judgment within defined procedures.
- Competent with the MS Office suite of applications and have knowledge of computer theory, various operating system software knowledge and networking in a Windows, Unix or Novell environment.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills are required.
- Ability to work in local or remote locations with domestic and international travel.
Primary responsibility is to achieve predictable Cycle Times and Warranty Starts for new tools installed at customer sites..
Includes activities associated with setup, alignment, calibration, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of highly complex capital equipment. Represents the company to the customer and assumes accountability for customer satisfaction with all installation-associated activities.
Assures operational quality of system equipment. Works directly with KLA regions and customers to verify new tool performance and transfer tool responsibility. Seeks warranty sign-off on newly installed tools
Minimum Qualifications
ASET minimum degree or equivalent work experience in supporting complex capital equipment for the semiconductor industry is required. as the skills to have discussions with customers, understands their requests, and can report the requests appropriately to Management. Has the ability to manage and solve problems for common, intermediate level issues with appropriate judgment. Required to execute against the 7-Step Problem Solving Method. Can appropriately process routine work. Needs little directions and/or instructions for a task or goal. Can study or reference what is required for work activities as needed.
