Job Description

  • Purchase of materials, components and equipment as driven by MRP system or reorder point system
  • Determine materials requirements from engineering and production schedules, and maintain inventory at planned level
  • Drive assurance of supply to production by prompt execution of MRB materials, drive supplier OTD performance and timely execution of ECO. Work with supplier on the shortage challenges and provide work around solutions to minimize impact on shortages
  • Manage cost by reviewing EOQ pricing of materials, MRB rework cost and minimizing unnecessary spend on expedited freight cost and PPVs.
  • Plan, schedule and monitor the movement of materials through production cycle
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned supply base to assure best quality at best value
  • Perform excess and obsolescence functions to minimize company’s risk
  • Gather quotations, examine bids, and make awards; and develop specifications for new contract orders
  • Evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate
  • Participate in supplier scorecard process – providing feedback and following up on action plans on cost, lead-time, delivery performance and response
  • Well verse in system and process and go to person as subject matter expertise in Purchasing function
  • Define and develop process when none is available
  • Working with various functional groups (and sites, if needed) to come out with best known methods (BKMs) for implementation
  • Improve closed-loop execution
  • Create Training material (Regular retraining & Job aids, FAQ) & Roll-out, as needed
  • Highlight if there are projects & timelines limitations
  • Work on system set up and data cleansing
  • Perform and Support UAT, cut over and Go Live as needed
  • Help to trouble shoot and address issues by raising enhancement/incidents tickets and follow up on resolutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing or supply chain management experience
  • Experience in SAP system and proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player, self driven and able to work under pressure with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work with a variety of offshore locations
  • Knowledge of supply chain and materials flow concepts
  • Able to work independently towards achieving company/group objectives
  • Experience in low volume high mix and a DFT/pull manufacturing environment a plus
