The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Responsibilities

Installation Engineer - RAPID

Perform customer-site installation and acceptance testing of newly delivered systems under varying circumstances, delivering high quality installations/upgrades of KLA products. Perform customer-site retrofit and model changes for previously installed systems. Serve as customer contact on Technical and Service-related matters Perform or ensure the completion of all activities required to handoff a KLA tool that meets and exceeds customers’ expectations. activities include site surveys, pre-installation, installation, solving, acceptance, training and handoff of the products while applying KLA Best Known Methods at customer sites. Require high flexibility, adaptability and autonomy due to the job includes mobility both domestic and overseas customers site.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

  • Perform installation of semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites locally and worldwide while ensuring the systems meet specified performance specifications.
  • Activities during installation includes but not limited to setup, alignment, calibration, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of highly complex capital equipment.
  • Understand and troubleshoot problems in software and electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems related to the assigned system.
  • Must successfully complete required and ongoing technical training to acquire a thorough knowledge of company equipment; including installation procedures and the application of diagnostic techniques and practical application of service aids.
  • Prepare field service reports and daily passdowns on Installation progress and non-conformances.
  • Contribute to post-activity Quality feedback initiative and improvement.
  • Execute documented procedures, exercises judgment within defined procedures and recommend changes to existing process and procedures when needed.
  • Represent the company to the customer and assumes accountability for customer satisfaction with all installation/upgrade-associated activities.
  • Obtain all necessary international travel documents and manage their personal lives to be ready to travel overseas for extended period
  • Manage personal finances to prevent disruption to scheduled activities - even when traveling for extended periods.

Minimum Qualifications

1. BS/MS major in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

2. Experience in servicing or installing semiconductor capital equipment is not required, but 2+ years of experience would be a strong advantage.

3. Knowledge and experience in Semiconductor Wafer Manufacturing, specifically steppers or Metrology Management preferred.

4. High level of technical and solving skills. Fluency in both Mandarin and English.

5. Good demeanor on learning new technology and willing to take challenge.

6. Require high flexibility, adaptability and autonomy due to the job includes ~70% travel within Taiwan region or oversea.
