TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Global Finance team supports the strategic direction of the Firm by ensuring efficient and effective financial and tax planning, analysis, budgeting, reporting, compliance, accounting, and stewardship of financial risks and controls. By doing so, we produce accurate financial information for decision making, ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies, and provide leadership for operational improvements, cost savings and strategic investments that align with the Firm’s culture and long-term goals. The Global Finance team also functions as a support for clients, from onboarding to investor communications and overall relationship management across all asset class, as well as responding to any ad-hoc tax-related requests.
POSITION SUMMARY
KKR is seeking an Accountant to join its KKR Real Estate Credit division in New York. The opportunity is to work on KKR Credit’s Real Estate private credit funds and publicly traded REIT. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success and advancement in prior roles and will be a person who has demonstrated strong technical fund and problem-solving skills. This candidate will also demonstrate a great appetite for knowledge and professional growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play an active role in completing quarter close processes, which may include
- Performing reconciliations, verifying accuracy of data, primarily in investment subledger
- Reviewing financial statements and disclosures, and agreeing to supporting documentation
- Completing activities in support of internal controls
- Prepare journal entries, perform money movements, submit invoices for payment
- Reconcile information received from third party servicers and asset management teams
- Perform reviews of lender financing information (repayments / draws), and support the onboarding of financing arrangements
- Support the loan valuation and loan loss reserve process
- Support liquidity management activities
- Assist with ad-hoc requests, investor questions, and frequent interaction with our marketing / client management and legal departments
- Frequently work on team-based, coordinated projects
- Assist in driving accounting, reporting and business process simplification and efficiency initiatives
- Collaborate across the origination, asset management, tech, legal, investor relations and global finance teams
- Add to the culture and overall vision / mission of the team and firm
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., financial services, REIT, real estate accounting, closed / open-ended fund accounting, public company reporting, etc. background)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field; CPA and/or advanced degree in finance or related field preferred
- Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Advanced user of Excel and highly proficient with MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Prior experience with Geneva, Workiva is preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a growing environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple demands and projects in a fast-paced work environment, including ability to prioritize time efficiently and handle heavy workloads while remaining attentive to detail
- Highly developed planning and organizational skills; able to anticipate change, adjust responses accordingly, and initiate steps to maximize resources toward a common objective
