TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Compliance team is responsible for developing and enforcing compliance policies and procedures, as well as tracking ongoing regulatory changes that may affect the firm. The team is also involved in the investment process to monitor and advise on compliance with guidelines for both strategic partners and clients. The team implements and monitors the firm’s compliance programs to ensure compliance with applicable Asia-Pacific regulatory regimes, reviews and analyze conflicts of interests, and also oversees the compliance due diligence processes on KKR transactions to align with global AML standards, assists with operational support for investing activities, and maintain compliance with the Firm’s global Compliance Policies.
POSITION SUMMARY
Based in Hong Kong, this individual will be providing support to the broader KKR APAC Compliance Program which includes but not limited to working on corporate governance matters, marketing compliance, Financial Crimes compliance, compliance monitoring and testing, conflicts management, as well as providing general compliance support for KKR’s businesses in APAC. The Compliance Intern will also be expected to foster strong relationships within the Firm and Global KKR Legal and Compliance Team, coordinate with other relevant functional groups, including legal, finance, audit, risks and operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strengthening and enhancing compliance program documentation.
- Supporting the Firm’s Financial Crimes Compliance Program in the APAC region by conducting AML compliance screenings and summarizing findings.
- Supporting regulatory compliance programs relating to APAC KKR licensed entities (including in Hong Kong and Singapore).
- Supporting the APAC Compliance Team in monitoring ongoing regulatory changes to businesses in Asia.
- Conducting research about legal and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting technology initiatives for the APAC Compliance Team.
- Supporting projects for review of disclaimers in marketing materials.
- Working as a generalist within the team and may interact with other KKR businesses, such as Private Equity, Credit, Capital Markets and Client Solutions.
- Assisting the APAC Compliance Team with administrative tasks, record-keeping and providing general support to other areas of APAC Compliance Program as necessitated.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or related field, with strong academic record. Law degree preferred, strong candidates who do not have a Law degree will also be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

- Highly collaborative, open to feedback, quick learner with clear intellectual curiosity and self-motivation.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and projects while prioritizing time efficiently and remaining attentive to detail in a high-pressure environment.
