TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Legal team plays a pivotal role in protecting the firm’s interests and reputation by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, counterparties, and investors. The team provides legal guidance on a wide range of matters including fund-related documentation, regulatory compliance, legal entity management, litigation support, and oversight of legal spend. It also partners closely with business and compliance teams to streamline legal operations, enhance contract lifecycle management, and implement best practices across jurisdictions to ensure efficiency, consistency, and risk mitigation in legal processes.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Corporate Counsel (EMEA) will be responsible for providing legal support across corporate governance, commercial contracting, cross-border advisory, and operational legal matters for KKR’s EMEA businesses. This role includes overseeing EMEA legal entities and statutory compliance, advising on corporate law and tax matters across multiple jurisdictions. The position also requires guiding internal stakeholders on overseas corporate legal issues for EMEA subsidiaries, coordinating with external counsel, and ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant execution of legal processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, commercially minded, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the EMEA legal function.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Advise across corporate governance, regulatory matters, tax issues, commercial contracting and operational risk for KKR’s EMEA businesses.
• Independently draft, negotiate, and structure a wide variety of agreements (NDAs, vendor contracts, technology/SaaS, consultancy, engagement letters, Data Privacy related Agreements), including intragroup agreements (services, cost-sharing, IP, financing, etc.).
• Lead intragroup structuring and reorganizations in partnership with Tax, Finance, and external counsel.
• Provide legal support on transfers of assets and similar corporate transactions.
• Collaborate with Compliance and business colleagues to ensure group structures align with licensing, regulatory, and tax objectives.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting corporate structuring and governance.
• Partner with fund formation teams as required.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders (IR, Finance, HR, Operations, ESG, Technology), balancing risk with business objectives and supporting the firm’s commercial strategy.
• Serve as first-line legal support for regional projects not owned by other specialist functions.
• Step into ad hoc matters where regional coverage is required, providing flexible, business-focused corporate support.

QUALIFICATIONS
• LL.B/ J.D., or equivalent law degree from a reputable institution; LL.M. from a leading international law school is a plus.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally including time at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at a global private equity firm, asset manager, or financial institution.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, cross-border entity governance, commercial contracting, and legal risk management across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience regarding transaction/ deal cycle and fund activities in EMEA is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to provide commercial, solution-oriented legal advice and operate autonomously with senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage complex matters independently.
