KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and delivery of business license and tax registration services
  • Review data received from KPMG clients to assist with determining a client’s US Business License and Tax Registration obligations
  • Assist the go to market, M&A and local office teams to identify targets and scope for business license and registration services
  • Oversee onshore/offshore teams of business license and registration preparation specialists and monitor workflow to ensure timely completion and client delivery
  • Review and approval of client deliverables, including forms and reports; build internal and external relationships with project stakeholders; identify and document processes and system improvements
  • Analysis and management of engagement financial data, including client billing

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent experience in preparation and review of business license or registrations
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or a related field of study from an accredited college/university
  • Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, master’s in taxation, CMI, or SIX SGMA, in addition to others on KPMG’s approved credential listing
  • Any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL Server, XML, PowerPoint, Project, Visio or process mapping software and strong technical awareness and basic knowledge of global indirect tax issues
  • Strong skills in indirect tax information systems, including strong project management skills, go to market and the ability to analyze client business needs
