KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Cloud Observability Lead to join our Managed Services practice.
- Develop and implement a unified observability strategy, including the selection of tools and platforms that enhance monitoring, logging, and diagnostic capabilities across M&O services
- Lead the integration of observability tools and practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring that applications are designed with monitoring and operational intelligence in mind
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to establish observability best practices, including the creation of dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms for real-time and historical analysis
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to elevate the observability knowledge and skills of M&O teams, fostering a culture of performance optimization and proactive issue resolution
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by leveraging observability insights to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for system enhancements
- Evaluate and recommend new observability technologies and methodologies that can provide competitive advantages or operational efficiencies for KPMG
- Minimum three years of recent experience in technology roles with a focus on observability, monitoring, or systems performance, including a minimum three years in a leadership position Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Deep understanding of observability principles and technologies (for example, logging, monitoring, tracing) and experience with leading observability platforms (for example, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic)
- Proven experience in integrating observability tools and practices into software development and operational processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights and actionable recommendations from data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working collaboratively across diverse teams and conveying complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
