KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Background and Investigative Services to join our Enterprise Security Services organization. This is a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Apply comprehensive and specialist knowledge in security and risk to design and implement strategies and programs to mitigate and minimize risks associated to security threats to the firm
- Serve as a senior contributor to Firm Security in non-cyber executive threat management, briefing senior and executive management on the status of overall threat management initiatives, investigations, and/or intelligence risks in the context of firm risk to support overall informed business decision making
- Cultivate and maintain effective liaisons with internal firm stakeholders, governmental, law enforcement, intelligence sources, and other third-party sources to understand current threats and maintain ready access to relevant information
- Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of relevant security policies, standards, and playbooks that serve to govern and manage the background check program and security issues aligned to all set forth governmental, client driven, or regulatory obligations
Qualifications:
- Minimum twelve years of recent experience handling investigations and/or complex matters in a law firm, large corporate environment, or government entity; specialized training in background investigations, international threat management, intelligence, and workplace threat assessment processes required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Leadership experience in developing, implementing, and managing security programs; must be able to establish credibility as a business partner with all levels within a matrix organization and exhibit a high degree of influence
- Must be a strategic thinker capable of handling multiple, concurrent situations and investigations; ability to develop strategic organization and resource plans, defining next generation business and leadership needs
- Capability to foster the development of high-performance teams; ability to build strong professional relationships with capability to influence all levels across the organization; must be able to set and execute strategic initiatives for team; creative thinker with ability to identify innovative business solutions
- Demonstrated outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, presentation, and negotiation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork

California Salary Range: $155000 - $323200
