KPMG is currently seeking a Construction cost Accountant to join our Real Estate Services organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain various financial reports, including weekly project budgets, monthly accruals, and capital project updates; ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage tenant improvement allowance (TIA) processes, including the preparation and collection of TIA draws, and maintain TIA portfolios.
- Maintain and update project tracking systems (Timberline/Siterra) and follow up on vendor documentation and compliance.
- Set up and maintain vendor records, resolve any vendor-related issues, and ensure accurate documentation is completed.
- Oversee the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of purchase orders.
- Input and manage project data within the firm's system, including job entries, budget forecasts, and transaction approvals, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three year of recent experience in construction project cost accounting, preferably within a corporate real estate organization or with large-scale construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Proficiency with Sage Timberline, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and other financial analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), construction accounting principles, and familiarity with construction industry standards and practices
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders
