Our Policy, Economics and Public Impact (PEPI) practice provides strategic advice on policy, structural and governance reform. Our team bring together a diverse and multidisciplinary team working across multiple sectors, Education, Health Ageing and Human Services, National Security and Justice, Transport and Infrastructure, Defence and Defence Industries, Environment, Indigenous Affairs, and Central Agencies.

We are looking for an exceptional Manager to join our PEPI team in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Perth. The PEPI team within KPMG is a highly experienced and motivated team that has been involved in some of Australia's largest and most complex reform programs.

Our team is connected with a national and international multi-disciplinary team of professionals who combine market leading capabilities and experience with their passion for solving difficult problems and delivering outstanding outcomes for our clients and society, through deep collaboration. We pride ourselves on our ability to help clients identify and enhance the true drivers of value for their stakeholders. Our work includes:

  • Strategic policy advice
  • Business case development
  • Evaluation and public impact measurement
  • Economic considerations, research, and profiling
  • Social impact and public value assessments
  • Cost-benefit analysis (and the application broader investment decision making tools)
  • Industry and market analysis
  • Investment logic mapping
  • Benefits planning, management, and realisation

Your Opportunity

There is an opportunity to join a high performing and market leading consulting team that prides itself on delivering quality work that exceeds the needs of our clients. You will work across a variety of projects so you must enjoy stepping outside your comfort zone.

You’ll be contributing to nationally significant projects across all Australian jurisdictions. You will work on demanding but intellectually stimulating and challenging work using sophisticated methodologies and tools. Depending on your capability and experience, you may:

  • Develop relationships with clients and across the firm, and maintaining relationships after engagements are completed.
  • Support and manage teams deliver client engagements.
  • Deliver on key workstreams within consulting engagements.
  • Engage with stakeholder in core service delivery and policy roles.
  • Manage the development of client proposals and coordinate other business development activities.
  • Undertake data analysis and modelling exercises.
  • Drive report and presentation development.
  • Contribute to solution development and the strategic direction of projects.
  • Contribute to the strategy of the team and the development of our people.

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience will include:

  • A degree or higher qualifications and have professional experience working in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated years of experience in a public policy environment.
  • Proven track record in contributing to and delivering projects successfully.
  • Project management and people leadership.
  • You possess strong data and analytical skills.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management skills including interviews, workshops, and presentations.
  • You work well in cooperative, collaborative and at times, geographically dispersed teams and under tight deadlines.
  • You are enthusiastic about solving difficult problems using innovative solutions, methods, creative and critical thinking.
  • You have a can-do attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
