As part of our Transaction Services team, KPMG’s People in Deals team advises across all people related aspects of the Deal lifecycle (both in deal due diligence and post deal integration and separation). This team provides specialty capabilities such as HR due diligence, organisation design, workforce strategy, people and HR integration/separation strategy and implementation, change management and communications.

Your Opportunity – Associate Director

This role is ideal for individuals with diverse experiences from HR advisory, change management and organisation design, professional service firms, or HR/workforce transformation teams within operational businesses.

How are you extraordinary.

Our People in Deals team is growing nationally, and in this role, you will play a crucial part in guiding clients through and executing complex transactions and influencing critical business decisions while guiding a diverse team. You will support our team and clients to identify value creation opportunities, and provide actionable insights on optimising value during transactions as well as:

  • Organsiational Analysis & Due Diligence: Lead detailed HR and workforce analysis and manage the due diligence process, collaborating with internal DD teams, buy-side and sell-side advisers. Deliver enhanced diligence ("Diligence+"), providing clients with a holistic assessment of an asset, quantifying potential value opportunities.
  • Integration & Separation Strategy: Manage the deal lifecycle, from pre-announcement to implementation. Define people and HR strategy, identify synergies, and support carve-out processes. Understand the transaction rationale and its impact on the workforce and HR obligations while planning proactively to meet milestones.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Convey clear, actionable advice, ensuring insights are tailored to clients’ industry and strategic objectives, and deliver integrated services that comprehensively address client needs. Offer alternative solutions that support clients' needs while prioritising value creation.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor team members, guiding them through complex tasks and fostering a collaborative environment. We are a growing team and you’ll play a key role in supporting the development of junior team members to provide specialty advice to clients and identify opportunities for innovation and learning

Your Experience

  • Professional experience in HR Transaction Services, Integration and Separation Advisory, HR Advisory or corporate HR or change management role, with expertise in workforce and remuneration analysis, opportunity and risk assessment, and client relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commercial flair to generate insights from interpreting data & financial models as well as data analytics.
  • Critical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to apply workforce and financial insights to solve complex client challenges and navigate the Transaction and M&A environment.
  • An ability to lead projects, manage client relationships, coordinate teams, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Use advanced analysis tools and methodologies like remuneration benchmarking, Orgvue and/or equivalent organisation design tooling, behavioural change management.
  • A continuous improvement approach to internal processes and methodologies, driving innovation in service delivery and helping clients solve challenges more effectively.
