KPMG’s Deal Advisory and Infrastructure Technology & Innovation team are a small but rapidly growing team within KPMG’s Deal Advisory and Infrastructure practice, which comprises over 1,400 professionals across ASPAC (including more than 1,000 in Australia). Your Opportunity
As a Solutions Architect, you will join a small growing team of technology and innovation professionals and will drive the technology decisions to enable KPMG to put best of breed products in the market. This will involve designing and stewarding new solutions for the Deal Advisory & Infrastructure division of the firm from feasibility through to deployment and its ongoing operations.
The role includes:
- Leading complex solution architecture projects from conception to implementation, consulting with stakeholders to capture requirements and translating them into viable solutions along with project sizing and estimation.
- Design, implement, and roll out cutting-edge software, AI, and analytics solutions that drive innovation and deliver measurable impact for clients and stakeholders. You will work at the forefront of technology, collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect and deploy scalable, high-performance systems that solve complex business challenges and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Lead and manage a team of developers to deliver innovative solutions, providing coaching and mentorship to support the professional growth of team members. Champion the adoption of new technologies and best practices across the firm, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technological advancement.
- Creating solution designs that explain the problem, the architecture, how the system works, key considerations for security and data privacy and how it will be delivered.
- As part of our emerging AI practice, you will contribute to our ongoing success in this exciting space. Working with AI architects and technical leads in Australia and across our global member firms, you will contribute to the architecure of robust, scalable AI-based solutions, ensuring they are aligned to our Trusted AI framework.
- Conduct research into appropriate technologies and patterns to find the best technology solution among all possible to solve the business problem.
- Establishing and providing ongoing maintenance of the current solutions, including contributing to strategic architecture roadmaps, design patterns and domain architectures.

Your Experience

- Demonstrated hands-on experience in software development using one or more of the following technologies: JavaScript, Node.js, .NET, Python, or PySpark. Ability to apply best practices in coding, testing, and deploying robust solutions across diverse technology stacks.
- Experience with data engineering using Spark-based platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Azure Synapse Analytics, including designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and solutions.
- Hands-on experience developing AI solutions, including building intelligent agents and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures to enhance system capabilities and deliver advanced, context-aware outcomes.
- Practical experience with DevOps practices and tools, including source control and CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
- Experience working with analytics tools and technologies, including Power BI, Semantic Models, DAX, and Alteryx, to design, develop, and deliver insightful data solutions that support business decision-making.
- Proficient in designing scalable, high-performance, and resilient architectures. Should be familiar with both traditional and modern architecture paradigms such as microservices, serverless computing, and event-driven architectures.
Qualifications
We are looking for applicants that have Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, as well as industry-recognised certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
