We combine deep financial, operational and technical capability with Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) sector experience to solve complex challenges for organisations delivering critical public services, programs, and infrastructure. Our purpose is to enable positive transformation in finance functions and deliver tailored solutions that improve governance, financial operations, reporting and organisational performance.

Your Opportunity

As an Associate Director within our CFO Advisory team in Melbourne, you will play a key leadership role in providing expert finance advisory services to CFOs and their teams. You will work across a diverse range of Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare clients. Responsibilities may include:

  • Advising CFOs and finance teams on governance, reporting and operational improvements.
  • Supporting organisations in responding to new financial and regulatory requirements, including accounting standards, government reporting guidelines and budget management processes.
  • Helping clients assess transformation needs, developing business cases and preparing for design and delivery of finance transformation and system projects, including optimising current technology.
  • Partnering with government agencies and organisations to establish new entities, funds, or program initiatives to deliver public policy or service outcomes.
  • Offering financial, budgetary and governance-related advice for major programs, including data analysis and financial modelling.
  • Conducting efficiency reviews and recommending improvements for sustainable performance.
  • Supporting the end-to-end CFO lifecycle, from strategy to resourcing.
  • Collaborating with clients to design tailored solutions for financial health assessments, risk management and decision-making optimisation.
  • Engaging in business development activities to expand our presence across IGH sectors.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior team members, fostering a collaborative culture that develops talent and builds skills across the team.

How Are You Extraordinary?

To succeed in this role, you bring passion for innovation, a collaborative mindset and a deep understanding of finance challenges in the government sector.

Your qualifications, skills, and experience could include:

  • Proven experience working with government, infrastructure, and/or healthcare organisations, including state or Commonwealth government agencies or broader public/private organisations in the sector.
  • Practical capability across finance processes, reporting, governance and internal controls.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and government reporting frameworks.
  • Experience advising CFOs and executives on financial challenges, digitisation and data-driven reporting.
  • Comprehensive leadership experience, including managing and mentoring multidisciplinary teams across multiple engagements or projects.
  • Business development acumen with the ability to establish client relationships, identify opportunities, and drive growth for the practice.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to present complex ideas in a simple, impactful way.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA accreditation, and relevant experience within consulting or the public sector.
