SAP Delivery Lead - Director
KPMG
Job Description
About the Team
KPMG’s Technology Implementation team supports clients across a wide range of industries to deliver technology‑enabled business transformation. Our business‑led approach brings together deep industry insight, functional expertise, and technology capability to help organisations realise their strategic ambitions.
Our SAP Capability is growing nationally, and in this role, you will be a key member of our team of SAP specialists, delivery leaders, analysts, and functional consultants. We partner with clients across complex environments to implement SAP solutions that drive meaningful, lasting outcomes.
Your Opportunity
As a Delivery Lead / Operations Officer (Director level), you will oversee the successful management and delivery of small to medium SAP client engagements, while supporting the operational effectiveness of the SAP practice.
This dual‑focused role blends hands‑on SAP delivery leadership with practice operations, ensuring engagements are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards—while also strengthening the scalability, commercial performance, and capability of the practice.
You will work closely with clients, delivery teams, Solution Architects, Sales, and Practice Leads to ensure seamless end‑to‑end engagement outcomes and a consistently high standard of delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Engagement Management
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of small to medium SAP engagements across Private Cloud and Public Cloud.
- Act as the primary delivery contact for assigned clients, managing expectations and outcomes.
- Own delivery governance including scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Ensure alignment with SAP Activate methodology and approved solution designs.
- Coordinate functional, technical, and partner resources to achieve delivery objectives.
Practice Operations & Management
- Support day‑to‑day SAP practice operations including workforce capacity management, demand planning, and resource allocation.
- Contribute to recruitment planning and onboarding activities in partnership with People & Inclusion.
- Support annual and quarterly business planning, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue tracking and margin management.
- Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
Governance, Reporting & Assurance
- Maintain clear delivery reporting across all active engagements (status, financials, risks, milestones).
- Identify risks early and implement proactive mitigation plans.
- Support internal and external audits, quality reviews, and assurance activities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual commitments, internal standards, and delivery frameworks.
Stakeholder Management & Leadership
- Build trusted relationships with clients, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Sales, Solution Architects, and Practice Leads to ensure smooth handover from presales to delivery.
- Mentor and support project managers and consultants within the SAP practice.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and delivery excellence.
Experience
We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Proven experience leading SAP delivery engagements, ideally small to medium complexity programs.
- Strong understanding of SAP delivery models across:
- SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition
- SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud
- Experience managing blended teams (onshore, offshore, partners).
- Solid financial acumen and experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and margin control.
Operations & Practice Management
- Experience supporting or running consulting practice operations.
- Strong capability in resource and capacity planning.
- Exposure to recruitment planning, workforce optimisation, and operational forecasting.
- Ability to balance competing priorities across delivery leadership and operational responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Mandatory: Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
- Highly Preferred: SAP Activate Project Manager certification (Private and/or Public Cloud).
