Job Description

The Pre‑Sales Enterprise Architect operates as a strategic technical leader responsible for shaping, articulating, and demonstrating end‑to‑end enterprise‑level technology‑enabled solutions that address customer business needs, while ensuring proposed architectures are technically sound, commercially viable, compliant, and aligned to the client’s strategic objectives; acting as a critical bridge across sales, account teams, technology, legal, finance, commercial, risk, and delivery functions, the role ensures holistic solution integrity and strategic alignment, bringing a comprehensive enterprise view across business, data, application, integration, security, and technology domains to design credible, scalable, and future‑ready solutions that support complex transformation initiatives.

Your opportunity:

Sales and Client Engagement

  • Partner with client engagement and sales governance teams to qualify and shape complex opportunities requiring enterprise‑wide transformation.
  • Engage senior stakeholders (PiCs, Partners, CxOs, contract and commercial, legal, finance, risk, domain architects and, business leaders) to understand strategic objectives, constraints, and architectural priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor during early‑stage discovery, visioning workshops, and executive discussions.

Enterprise Architecture and Solution Shaping

  • Define target and transition architectures aligned to client strategy, supported by high‑level blueprints across business, application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security.
  • Ensure solution compliance with laws, regulations, policies, architecture standards, reference models, and governance, while identifying key risks, dependencies, and trade‑offs.
  • Assess and mitigate architectural risks, recommending treatments and articulating associated commercial considerations.

Pursuit and Proposal Support

  • Lead the enterprise architecture contribution to RFPs, RFIs, and proposals, including vision, architecture narratives, diagrams, and roadmaps.
  • Support scope definition, sequencing, and high‑level effort estimation in collaboration with solution and delivery architects.
  • Review and validate solution consistency across multiple workstreams and vendors in complex bids.

Collaboration and Handover

  • Work closely with Solution Architects and delivery teams to ensure continuity from pre‑sales design into delivery.
  • Provide architectural guidance and intent to delivery teams during transition and mobilisation phases.
  • Support architecture governance activities where required during early delivery phases.

Thought Leadership and Capability Development

  • Contribute to reusable enterprise architecture assets such as reference architectures, patterns, and value propositions.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and enterprise transformation approaches.
  • Support internal enablement by mentoring solution architects and contributing to go‑to‑market offerings.

Your experience:

  • Substantial experience conducting competitor analysis qualifying opportunities.
  • Considerable experience with requirements analysis and developing cost models that account for CAPEX, OPEX and TCO
  • Solid understanding of risk identification and commercial mitigating treatments.
  • Significant experience in Enterprise Architecture, Domain Architecture, or Senior Solution Architecture roles.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and practices (e.g. TOGAF‑aligned approaches).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large, complex pre‑sales engagements or transformation programs.
  • Ability to communicate architectural concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and commercial awareness.

Desirable:

  • Consulting or professional services experience in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience working across multiple architecture domains (business, application, data, integration, security).
  • Familiarity with large‑scale platform transformations (e.g. cloud, ERP, data platforms, AI).
  • Experience contributing to enterprise architecture governance or strategy development.
  • MBA or equivalent business acumen.
