Job Description

As part of KPMG’s Infrastructure, Assets & Places group, our Commercial Advisory & Transactions team are industry leaders providing specialist transaction, commercial, and financial advice to support investment decisions for major infrastructure projects.

Our work spans all major infrastructure sectors including transport, energy, water and utilities and social infrastructure (health, housing, education, justice, and community infrastructure).

Our team understands the challenges in delivering projects across the full project lifecycle, and we thrive on this complexity. We are a market leader, and we are advising on some of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects.

Your Opportunity

To support continued infrastructure investment, we are seeking a Senior Leader (Associate Director or Director) to grow our South Australian practice locally in this newly created strategic leadership role. This position offers the chance to shape our market presence, lead high impact projects, and influence the future of infrastructure planning and delivery across the state.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in providing commercial and financial advice on major infrastructure projects across the entire asset lifecycle, from early investment decisions and business case development, through procurement and transaction processes, and into delivery and operational phases.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing commercial and financial advice to support clients with the planning, procurement and delivery of infrastructure investments, including preparing business cases and assessing procurement and delivery model options.

  • Advising on transaction strategies and delivery model analysis, including the development of commercial and contractual structures for project financed infrastructure, integrated precincts, and other commercial realisation opportunities.

  • Engaging directly with clients to understand their challenges, design tailored solutions, prepare and deliver proposals, and oversee the successful management and delivery of engagements.

  • Building and leading a cohesive, delivery focused team, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Driving new business opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships, and actively representing the firm at industry events to build our local market presence.

About You

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, clients and communities. You will bring qualifications, skills and experience such as:

  • Relevant experience across the private or public sector, ideally within professional services, management consulting, corporate advisory, government infrastructure delivery agencies, treasury departments, infrastructure investment origination or infrastructure funds.

  • Strong existing relationships within the South Australian infrastructure market, including with key proponents who require commercial and financial advice in the planning, execution and delivery of infrastructure projects.

  • Extensive experience developing business cases and feasibility studies to support investment and commercial decision making, as well as transactional experience.

  • A passion for leading, developing and growing a high performing team, with demonstrated capability in coaching and enabling others.

  • Strong business development capability, with a proven track record in building a portfolio, securing new opportunities and strengthening long standing client relationships.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics, law, engineering, or a similar discipline.
