As a Senior Consultant in our dynamic Governance, Regulation & Assurance (GRA) team, you’ll be at the forefront of helping financial services organisations including superannuation to strengthen governance, risk and compliance outcomes in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. You’ll work with APRA- and ASIC-regulated entities, advising Boards, Audit & Risk Committees and senior executives on how to build trust, manage risk and unlock performance.

The Opportunity
Based in Melbourne, you’ll lead and deliver high-impact engagements for financial services clients across internal audit, risk and controls, compliance and risk advisory. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to help teams navigate regulatory expectations and embed practical, sustainable risk and compliance practices.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Driving transformation: Assess and uplift governance, risk, and control frameworks, policies and processes.

• Solving complex problems: Use KPMG’s global tools and insights to tackle your clients’ most pressing challenges.

• Building trust: Deliver clear, compelling reports and facilitate conversations that shape strategic decisions.

• Leading with purpose: Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of excellence and inclusion.

• Creating opportunity: Build strong relationships and identify new ways to add value to clients.

Your Experience
You’re a curious, driven professional who thrives on challenge and connection. You love learning, solving problems, and making a difference.

You bring:

• 3+ years of experience in governance, risk, controls and/or internal audit within financial services (or experience gained at a regulator such as APRA or ASIC), with a strong understanding of how APRA/ASIC-regulated entities operate

• A sharp understanding of business processes, risks, and controls

• Strong writing and communication skills to deliver client-ready insights

• Project management skills to lead engagements and support junior team members

• A collaborative mindset and a passion for building relationships

Your Background Might Include:

• Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, accounting, data analytics, or similar

• Experience in professional services or client-facing roles (preferred but not essential)

• Australian Citizenship and/or full working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship available)
