You will join a collaborative, high-performing team working closely with KPMG’s global ITAM network and alliance partners such as ServiceNow, Flexera and Snow. This is a specialist and growing capability, offering the opportunity to deepen your expertise in a niche and in-demand area.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) Senior Consultant to play a key role in delivering software asset management and licensing engagements.

In this role, you will support clients by developing accurate software baselines and Effective Licence Positions (ELPs), helping organisations understand their licensing position and manage compliance risk. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to analyse complex data, interpret licensing rules, and deliver clear, defensible insights that support audit readiness and cost optimisation.

This is a hands-on delivery role suited to individuals looking to further build their expertise in ITAM, licensing, and data-led consulting.

How are you Extraordinary

  • Attention to detail – able to produce accurate, defensible outputs across complex data sets
  • Analytical thinking – able to interpret licensing scenarios and identify risks and optimisation opportunities
  • Collaborative mindset – able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver software asset baselines and Effective Licence Positions (ELPs) across Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors
  • Analyse deployment, entitlement, and usage data to validate accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Apply vendor licensing models, product use rights, and contract terms to determine compliance positions
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and tooling limitations, and work with technical teams to resolve them
  • Support audit and compliance activities, including evidence preparation and baseline walkthroughs
  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and licensing logic to ensure auditable and repeatable outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engagement outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ITAM methodologies and knowledge sharing

Experience

  • Prior experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM) is essential
  • Experience delivering or supporting software baselining and licensing analysis, particularly for Tier 1 vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IBM, Adobe)
  • Hands-on experience with ITAM tools (e.g. FlexeraOne, Snow Atlas, ServiceNow SAM Pro)
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software licensing models and metrics
  • Experience working with data analysis, discovery tools, and inventory reconciliation
  • Strong analytical capability and ability to interpret complex datasets
  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing environment is highly regarded

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant certifications are desirable, such as:
    • ITIL Foundation
    • IAITAM CSAM or CITAM
    • ServiceNow SAM/HAM Pro certification
