Description and Requirements
Lenovo HPC PS team is looking for a Consultant for Power and Cooling based in North America (NA) to join its Global HPC Professional Services team.
This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use and expand your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites.
Your Responsibilities :
Consultant Power and Cooling will be trained, where necessary to handle one or more projects concurrently and will be responsible for managing and working effectively and collaboratively in the following areas
- Decipher complex RFP requirements related to facility power and cooling infrastructure and help IT architects design an IT solution that fits within those limitations.
- Architect complex power and cooling solutions for air and water-cooled IT solutions.
- Work with key stakeholders (customers or internal) requesting infrastructure enhancements to develop a clear understanding of requirements and success criteria.
- Collaborate with sales and critical engineering subject matter experts to determine the solution scope and projected costs.
- Capture the solution description and review with key stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineers and developers to ensure the tasks are well understood and acceptance criteria met.
- Continue partnerships with internal or external customers to ensure the project goals and requirements are met.
- Drive the build vs. buy decisions as needed, and identify key technologies needed to deliver new products with each release.
- Participate actively with Development and external organizations like ASHRAE while staying current with technologies and techniques that will move our business forward.
- Be actively involved in the physical installation of complex IT system that are air or water-cooled.
- Be able to provide engineering guidance over a wide range of disciplines (power/electrical, mechanical, thermal, plumbing, controls).
- Effectively project manage vendors contracted to provide separate pieces of the solution.
Position Requirements (What will You bring):
You should possess strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers. They must also possess the following skills
- Experience working in technology disciplines such as power/electrical or mechanical/thermal engineering.
- Understanding of data center and IT solution power delivery architectures.
- Understanding of data center and IT solution cooling architectures and heat transfer.
- Proven ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders and ability to drive issues to closure.
- Experience in providing effective leadership in engagements as a technical consultant in the power and cooling subject matter area.
- Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout career.
