Lenovo is looking for a seasoned storage focused HPC Consultant to join its Global HPC Professional Services team.
This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites.
In this role you will:
- Implement and deliver HPC Cluster, Storage, and AI solution services around Lenovo products
- Perform Solution optimization, migration, upgradation and recommend strategies
- Operate on-site (includes travel) or remotely
- Work collaboratively, complementary with the hardware sales team, technical sales (presales) team, and Business Partners
- Work on a billable basis (customer-paid projects)
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required for project implementation and support
Organization:
You will be part of a global HPC team supporting customers and deploying projects primarily in the EMEA region but on occasion worldwide. You will participate in weekly collaborative planning calls and meetings.
Requirements:
You are expected to work effectively in providing onsite technical services in the areas of Lenovo Storage platforms, HPC & AI and solutions. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the HPC solution at customer sites with a strong focus on Storage technologies but additionally Network, Power and Cooling, OS, and cluster management.
Knowledge and working experience in the following technologies/areas:
- Strong focus on Storage technology – design, deployment, and configuration
- Proven track record in Data Management including encryption, backup, and recovery in HPC environments.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize storage performance including tuning and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies relevant to HPC storage, including InfiniBand, Ethernet, and RDMA.
- Familiarity with security best practices to protect storage systems including encryption, access control, and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of HPC Storage Hardware
The job responsibilities also involve providing knowledge transfer, troubleshooting, resolving and advising on the mentioned infrastructure and technologies.
You must possess strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers. Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout career.
Skills Required:
- Extensive experience of HPC storage clustered/distributed/parallel filesystems and scale-out storage technologies for example GPFS, Lustre, Ceph, BeeGFS, WEKA.
- Experience with storage migration methods.
- In-depth knowledge of DSS-G storage product
- Ability to automate and script deployment processes for repeatability and standardization.
- Experience with Ethernet, InfiniBand, and OPA network technologies
- Experience in Linux (i.e. Suse, RHEL & CentOS)
- Experience in HPC system troubleshooting and support
- Knowledge of performing Storage benchmarks e.g. IO500
- Good knowledge of Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
- Very good hands-on technical skills and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
