■Roles and responsibilities


About this position:

Lenovo SW Test Technology (hereafter called SWPA) is co-working with many teams across the countries through the activity,

- Conduct product testing with test management and technical skill, also with strong leadership

- Creating new test method and test cases

- Managing project testing with Development, Technical PM (hereafter called TPM), Project Assurance (hereafter called PAPM) PM team

- Keep involved technical lecture guide to other SWPA team such as Original Design Manufacturing (hereafter called ODM), External Test House (hereafter called ETH)


Also required to understand and follow Lenovo development process.

- Product design review and risk assessment

- Test strategy / planning

- Test progress tracking

- Problem recreation / isolation, and tracking. Also risk assessment for closure

- PCR (Plan Change Request) assessment

- Phase entry / exit review

- Test plan / report creation and review

- Technical supports for all inquiries come from ODM, ETH, Dev, PE etc.


Expertise:

■Test case development and maintenance

- Need to continuously learn new technology for new test cases development.

- SWPA maintains more than 1000 test cases and the member need to own them by technical area. Maintenance, new creation or update, activity happens daily bases.

- Focused on evaluation of AI software application developed by Lenovo or supported by Microsoft Windows, and function evaluation of AI PC

■ Test execution management

- Leadership to manage the product testing following Lenovo development process. Each member initiates test strategy and plan.

- Communication skill with not only other department in Lenovo but also ODM, ETH across the country

- Risk assessment skill at test planning, execution and problem handling. e.g. customer impact assessment.

■ Technical support

- Instruct ODM, ETH team for any technical inquiry, test case contents and problem investigation etc.

- Review test quality for ETH, ODM team and leverage across the test team.

■ Test tool, test management system development

- Recently, we have been focusing on the development of testing tools using AI technology, especially system development using LLM, problem detection and analysis, etc.


■Key Interaction with:

- Project Management team (Technical PM, Software PM) in Japan, China and USA

- Development teams (EE/ME/SW engineers) in Japan, China and USA

- ETH, ODM test engineer

- PA colleagues and contractors in Japan and China


■Must Have – essential

- More than 5 years work experiences in PC industry or data science of R&D division

- Completed the subject of study in computer science, information technology, or relevant technical course

- AI-related practical experience and programing skills such as Python

- Fundamental knowledge of either Electronics, Mechanicals or OS and Software of PC / Smart phone devices

- English conversation / communication skill

- Non-native Japanese speaker is required conversation / communication skill in Japanese language.

- Curiosity to technologies

- Aggressive attitude to work and strong leadership to influence other members
