Description and Requirements

The Lenovo Commercial ARVR (Augmented & Virtual Reality) team is seeking a proven General Manager who can scale an internal startup through Go-To-Market execution.

The GM must be able to manage a broad cross-functional team, leverage the strong skill sets in place, and focus on Go-to-Market planning and execution to scale the business. This requires skills in both direct large enterprise customer engagement as well as developing and broadening other channels.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Go To Market plans working across Lenovo’s Global Account sales teams (Fortune 500); Lenovo Geography Sales teams (Large Business); General Channels; AR & VR ISV’s and channels
  • Be an integrator across a wide breadth of functional teams incl. product management, hardware development, software development, sales, and alliance management to create a cohesive team incented to achieve scale and success. This requires the ability to integrate and manage teams both inside direct control as well as cross-functionally.
  • Evaluate where Lenovo’s strengths/breadths can be utilized mixed with entrepreneur startup mentalities to be agile and move with speed in an emerging marketplace and technology.
  • P&L ownership; generate financial models and investment cases to support new opportunities based on rationale and executable market traction
  • Develop, analyze, and report on key milestones/metrics, summarizing trends and market progress. Utilize data to proactively enhance existing processes and develop a new framework to improve internal performance, customer experience, and new product adoption.
  • Lead the development of a scalable business model and market strategy; promote internal and external awareness of ARVR industry trends in the marketplace as a strategic industry segment for Lenovo.
  • Deliver thought leadership and support to customers, press/analysts, Lenovo sales & marketing teams, on both technology trends & products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15 years+ of global technology cross-functional leadership experience across digital transformation solutions; tangible results delivering incremental business outcomes within the ARVR or related field (ie. Emerging technology, complex digital transformation tools, etc.)
  • BA/BS degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading a hyper-growth / entrepreneurial environment and scaling new and emerging products.
  • Outstanding narrative and storytelling abilities that propel adoption and market momentum. Track record of bringing innovative, industry-leading, category-defining tech products to market.
  • Deep understanding and a proven network of key collaboration partners that will drive the ARVR marketplace.
  • Extensive network of industry contacts within the marketplace and partner segments.
  • Possess excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills. Translate data and drivers into a meaningful vision and story.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers at all levels with customers and in the internal global organization matrix-environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize complex data into executive-level action-oriented information and deliver C-level presentations.
  • Outstanding communication, excellent presentation, and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to travel, including extensive international travel.
  • MBA or equivalent industry experience preferred
