This role is a FPGA Hardware Development Engineer position in the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), based out of Morrisville, North Carolina. This is an exciting role in the Server Development organization that has a strong focus to be the #1 trusted IT Partner in the Datacenter. Opportunities on the team include developing innovative and complex server designs to meet customer and business needs. These organic designs provide exposure to the latest technologies from Lenovo and its development partners to meet market demands. The role also offers solving unique client challenges through the custom development of solutions and direct engagement with customers. This candidate will become an active member of the development team that is highly motivated to engage, understand and solve the technical challenges of today and shape the server designs of tomorrow.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience in EDA schematic design tools for PCB schematic creation and the support of Physical design activity
- At least 5 years of experience in x86 architecture and hardware design
- Experience in VHDL or Verilog programming and setting up test benches for verification of FPGA logic.
- Experience in simulation of FPGA logic tool provided by FPGA vendors such as Questa Sim and/or ModelSIM.
- Ability to triage and resolve medium to complex issues as well as experience in defining and performing low level hardware validation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Server architecture and design.
- Experience in embedded controllers (ex. PSOC, microcontroller), including schematic design and programming logic.
- Proficiency in Linux/Windows Operating systems. Experience with OS virtualization is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in shell scripting (BASH/Perl/Python and Windows Power Shell) preferred.
- Collaborate on projects across fast paced global teams.
- Provide executive updates in both written and presentation formats.
