Role / Job Description
The Level 2 Support Engineer position at Lenovo India Private Limited is a challenging role.
In this role you will work with various VMware products(vSphere 7.x/ 8.x, vSAN 7.x/8.x, vCenter), Linux System Administration, deployment- Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or others) in both production and development environments. Administration to triage, analyze and troubleshoot the issues in complex Production environment."
· 5+ years’ Experience vSphere Environment.
· Resolution of these issues- requires assessing, planning, troubleshoot the issues and provide the root cause analysis.
· Knowledge on escalation procedures, incident management, problem management including RCAs.
Technical Skill Required:
· Proficiency in VMware product portfolio including vSphere vCenter, vSAN.
· Perform VM migrations, snapshots, backups, and restores.
· Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize resources, and ensure the high availability of virtual infrastructures.
· Proficiency in Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).- troubleshooting, system administration, security management, lifecycle activities
· Administer server patches, updates, and configuration changes in compliance with best practices and security standards.
· Monitor server health, identify potential issues, and perform proactive maintenance.
. Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, or PowerShell for task automation.
· Experience in maintenance of VSAN Cluster.
· Ability to Engage, Collaborate & Direct stakeholders & project teams.
· Identify and troubleshoot to fix the problem & break fix.

. VMware Certified professional - Datacenter Virtulization
· VMware Certified advanced professional – Network Virtualization Deploy/Design.
· VMware Certified Specialist – vSAN.
. Linux certifications (e.g., RHCE, Linux+).
. Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPN).
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and resolve technical issues.
· Ability to interact with global customer.
· Person should be flexible to work in 24X7 environment in shifts.
Education :
· Degree BE/B.Tech/MCA in IT/Computer Science/ Electronics & Communication/Electronics or higher.
· Total 5-7 years of experience on VMware products

6 days a week
