About the Next UX team
As part of the Lenovo Experience Group (LXG), Next UX is an innovative research and design team at Lenovo. We hunt new UX solutions that Lenovo could deliver over the next 2- 4 years by exploring intersections between design, technology, and user value. We endeavor to uncover the best problems to solve and craft new experiences that properly solve them. The team works across a broad set of focus areas for Lenovo including the Future of PC UX, Evolution of Workplace Collaboration, UX of AI in SaaS, Enterprise Digital Experiences and Services.
We seek someone who possesses a strong foundation in UX/UI principles coupled with exceptional conceptual development skills to solve complex challenges and drive innovation as we grow our focus on Enterprise Digital Experiences and Services from Lenovo.
Responsibilities:
Drive conceptual development & UX/UI vision for enterprise and service experiences via:
- Strategic Mindset: Align design solutions with business goals, user needs, and technical constraints, understanding how UX contributes to business success. Remain aware of the end-to-end user experience to identify the stronger opportunities for experience innovation.
- Innovative Problem Solving: Define and solve complex design challenges in enterprise environments. Generate novel design solutions that improve experience and efficiency.
- Divergent-Convergent Process: The best solutions do not exist yet. Cyclically explore, prototype and narrow.
- Stakeholder & team collaboration: Communicate design directions and perspectives effectively to both decision makers and collaborators.
Utilize core UX/UI skills:
- Interaction Design: Design intuitive interactions, considering user flows and micro interactions.
- Visual Design: Apply visual hierarchy, typography, and shape design systems.
- Information Architecture: Organize complex information for efficient navigation
- Prototyping: Create wireframes and prototypes to communicate design concepts and validate solutions. Exploit design-to-code capabilities and emerging AI tools to aid the process.
- User Understanding: Incorporate insights from user research activities to understand and meet user needs for an enterprise context.
Apply enterprise and service-specific knowledge:
- Enterprise Systems: Familiarity with enterprise applications (e.g., CRM, ERP)
- Systems Thinking: Understand how system parts interact and how design impacts user experience in large-scale, interconnected enterprise solutions and services.
- Complex Workflows: Design solutions for intricate workflows, ensuring user efficiency.
Basic requirements for the role:
- Degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, Computer Science or Engineering
- 5+ years of professional practice designing complex enterprise applications and digital experiences
- Adept at using Figma and Miro to create & communicate
- A strong portfolio showcasing your work and design skills is required for consideration
- UX design experience in enterprise or complex tool environments
- Ability to break down complex problems into elegant, user-centered solutions
- Comfortable presenting ideas visually and verbally to peers and cross-functional partners
- Appetite to tackle ambiguity and the fuzzy front-end of complex problem areas
