Role Mission & Context
Lenovo is a ¥8.7 trillion / US$57B global technology leader. In addition to its dominant position in the PC market, the company is aggressively expanding into AI-powered devices, infrastructure, software, and services.
Japan is the largest eCommerce market in APAC and accounts for over half of Lenovo’s APAC online revenue. Historically, the business has grown rapidly with a performance-driven / lower-funnel marketing model. Going forward, Lenovo Japan is shifting toward a full-funnel, experience-driven growth strategy — evolving from “driving transactions” to inspiring customers to want to buy.
This role serves as the strategic CMO-equivalent for Lenovo Japan’s direct-to-consumer eCommerce business, acting as the central leader driving digital growth and customer acquisition for the market— responsible for defining and executing the digital marketing strategy that drives both short-term sales and long-term brand/customer value.
We are seeking a game-changing digital marketing leader who can drive business growth through data-driven decision making, cross-functional influence, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. eCommerce Marketing Strategy & Execution
• Own demand generation, acquisition, and lifecycle marketing across B2C and SMB sectors
• Lead full-funnel integrated marketing (performance ads, SEO/SEM, social, content, events, media/alliances, etc.)
• Drive measurability and optimization via marketing automation and analytics platforms
• Design customer-journey-led initiatives to improve conversion, retention, and long-term CLV
2. Strategic Partner Co-Marketing
• Co-lead strategic marketing partnerships with Intel, AMD, Microsoft, etc.
• Develop and execute joint marketing campaigns that elevate brand impact and accelerate revenue
3. Team Leadership & Process Excellence
• Lead and develop the Digital Marketing team
• Establish KPIs and scalable, repeatable marketing execution frameworks
• Foster a performance-oriented, agile, and innovative team culture
4. Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
• Closely partner with category, brand marketing, sales, and other domestic teams
• Act as the Japan digital voice to APAC & global leadership, influencing regional strategy
Required Qualifications
1. Language & Communication
• Advanced business proficiency in both Japanese and English (verbal and written)
• Proven experience collaborating with global / matrix stakeholders
2. Digital & eCommerce Expertise
• Hands-on experience in digital marketing and/or eCommerce in B2C or SMB markets
• Proven track record in performance marketing (e.g. listing ads, SEM, SEO, SNS ads, retargeting)
• Experience managing multi-million USD marketing budgets with measurable ROI improvement
• Strong execution of transactional / conversion-driven marketing
3. Data & Technology
• Experience using Google Analytics and digital performance dashboards
• Familiarity with marketing automation platforms for lead capture and nurturing
• KPI/ROI-driven cost optimization and revenue growth execution
• Strong business presentation / analysis skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
4. Strategy & Leadership
• Able to drive strategy from concept to execution with full ownership
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or transformation projects
• Demonstrated success in team leadership and organizational evolution
• Innovative mindset with proven success in scaling new digital marketing approaches
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of the PC / device / consumer tech industry
• Consulting or MBA background (strong strategic thinking / problem solving)
• Experience in full-funnel marketing and omnichannel strategies
• Expertise in social media growth marketing
• Experience in both B2B and B2C digital commerce, having delivered measurable business impact
