We are hiring a Design Storytelling and Illustration Intern to join the Lenovo Design Innovation Team (DIT). DIT is a global team of highly skilled and creative people doing what we love and shaping world-class product experiences across brands like ThinkPad, Yoga, IdeaPad, and Legion. We design technology used by millions and we believe thoughtful design makes that technology better, more human, and more meaningful. By joining Lenovo DIT for the summer, you won’t just observe, but actively contribute to illustration, documentation, and storytelling initiatives that shape how Lenovo’s design philosophy and systems are communicated across a global organization. As a Visual Storytelling Intern, you will translate complex ideas into clear visual and written narratives. You will combine illustration, systems thinking, and editorial clarity to elevate how our work is understood, applied and experienced. This role is ideal for a designer who pairs strong visual craft with thoughtful writing and is excited to bring clarity and structure to complex ideas.
Core responsibilities:
- Create illustrations that turn research and technical concepts into cohesive visual stories
- Support the writing and refinement of web content for our design documentation platform
- Help maintain visual and editorial consistency across style documentation and system guidelines
- Participate in critique and concept exploration, iterating thoughtfully based on feedback
- Deliver high-quality work with strong attention to detail and timelines
Qualifications:
- Current junior or senior pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field
- An excellent portfolio showcasing illustration and design storytelling examples
- Strong foundation in design fundamentals, visual systems, and the power of visual storytelling
- Interest in both illustration and writing
- Comfortable presenting your work and discussing your process
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with motion/animation tools a plus
