About the Position
Lenovo’s IDG (Intelligent Devices Group) Global Marketing team is hiring a Director of Worldwide Strategy & Planning. This leadership position is responsible for defining and driving Lenovo IDG’s global marketing strategy and leading annual and multi-year planning for the PC business. Operating at the intersection of global, geo-level, and business unit teams, this role ensures alignment, investment rigor, and measurable business impact.
A key focus of this position is its role in IDG Marketing’s multi-year AI transformation agenda. You will contribute to strategy, alignment, and impact assessment of key initiatives across the organization (segment marketing, PR & Comms, events, Media COE), in partnership with central teams.
This position is remote with EST working hours. Our ideal candidate brings strong strategy and planning experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the development and evolution of the IDG global marketing strategy, building and operationalizing a strategic framework (objectives, goals, strategies, and measures) that connects business priorities to focused marketing pillars, and influencing adoption across global and geo stakeholders
- Lead the annual planning process across the IDG global Marketing organization in partnership with geo marketing teams, business units, and corporate marketing to ensure alignment
- Work closely with the global marketing teams to ensure plans align to and support the global marketing transformation priorities
- Establish ROI framework and ensure consistent ROI measurement across marketing initiatives to ensure performance is measured, tracked, and used as input to create a closed loop planning process
- Establish principles for alignment of marketing investment with business priorities and marketing priorities across organizations (Global & Geo)
- Partner with research and analytics teams to embed insights into strategy setting and on-going planning
- Support leadership meetings by developing clear, compelling presentations that synthesize customer, competitive and marketing intelligence
- Steward brand positioning and architecture across products and segments to ensure consistency of messaging and value propositions across touchpoints
- Apply leadership skills to demonstrate initiative, effect change, and drive progress in this transformational period to support the overall IDG marketing imperatives
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of Experience leading strategic marketing plans in technology or relevant industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Strategy or related field
- 15+ years of Experience leading strategic marketing plans in technology or relevant industries
- 10+ years of Experience leading global and cross-functional teams across multiple teams, geographies and stakeholder levels
- 7+ years of Agency or Consulting industry experience
- Desire to collaborate across organizational boundaries and demonstrate partnership
- Proven track record for leading through influence
- Strong understanding of technology trends and marketing best practices in PC sector
- Strong sense of ownership, transparency and accountability
- Strong sense of team success, including recognition
- Strong people management skills
- Strong written and spoken presence
- Cultural Competency working across Chinese, American, Desi, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact
- Advanced Degree a plus
The base salary budgeted range for this position is $165-185k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. This position is remote with EST working hours.
