Commercial AI & Automation Intern - Summer 2026
Overview:
The Commercial AI & Automation Intern will support key initiatives within the IDG Commercial organization by designing, testing, and enabling AI‑driven tools and automated workflows that improve business operations. This role provides hands‑on exposure to artificial intelligence, automation, process improvement, and commercial strategy within a global technology company.
The intern will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the Commercial organization and gain practical experience working with AI platforms, automation tools, and no/low‑code solutions. Throughout the internship, the intern will take ownership of defined AI and automation workstreams, contribute to operational excellence initiatives, and share insights, prototypes, and recommendations with team members and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and execution of AI‑enabled and automated workflows supporting Commercial business initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the IDG Commercial team to identify opportunities for AI and process automation
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and AI experimentation discussions
- Own the development, testing, and iteration of assigned AI or automation workstreams
- Create AI‑driven solutions to support:
- Social media content ideation and recommendations
- Internal communications and all‑hands meeting preparation
- Competitive analysis and ongoing market intelligence tracking
- Daily news monitoring, trend analysis, and insight summaries
- Research, test, and evaluate emerging AI tools, including generative AI, copilots, automation platforms, and no/low‑code solutions
- Analyze existing workflows and identify inefficiencies or manual processes that can be improved through automation
- Document use cases, workflows, learnings, limitations, and best practices to support repeatability and future scaling
- Share AI trends, demos, and experimentation ideas with the broader Commercial team
- Provide updates, insights, and recommendations to the team throughout the internship
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence, automation, and improving how businesses operate
- Ability to think critically about workflows and translate business needs into practical solutions
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable experimenting, learning quickly, and working in ambiguous or evolving environments
- Curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
Preferred / Optional Skills:
- Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., copilots, chat‑based AI, content generation tools)
- Exposure to automation, productivity, or workflow tools
- Interest in business operations, internal communications, or digital transformation
- Experience with analytics, dashboards, or structured research (a plus, not required)
