What You’ll Do
The Director of Marketing Technology (MarTech) is responsible for defining and leading the enterprise MarTech strategy across the commercial business, supporting marketing, sales, and partner ecosystems. This role ensures a scalable, integrated, and future-ready MarTech ecosystem that enables data-driven engagement, customer experience, and operational efficiency across the organization. This position is remote with a 10% traveling expectation.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise MarTech Strategy & Governance
- Define and drive the overarching MarTech vision, roadmap, and investment strategy across the commercial business
- Establish and enforce governance models, standards, and best practices for MarTech platforms, data usage, and integrations
- Ensure alignment with enterprise IT, data, privacy, and security frameworks
- Define MarTech capabilities that support end-to-end commercial processes, including marketing, seller enablement, and partner engagement
Platform & Ecosystem Leadership
- Lead and drive the evaluation, selection, and lifecycle management of core MarTech platforms (e.g., CDP, MAP, personalization, analytics, DAM, etc.) in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
- Define and maintain the enterprise MarTech architecture, including data flows, integrations, and platform interoperability across business units
- Drive integration across systems to enable a unified customer view and seamless omnichannel experiences
- Reduce redundancy and optimize the MarTech stack for efficiency and scalability
Cross-Functional Enablement
- Partner with regional, segment, and functional teams to enable adoption and effective use of MarTech capabilities
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Build and lead enablement programs to increase MarTech maturity across the organization
Data & Customer Experience Enablement
- Collaborate with data and analytics teams to operationalize customer data for segmentation, targeting, and personalization
- Enable consistent measurement frameworks and performance tracking across channels
- Support the development of a unified, cross-channel customer and partner experience strategies
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Act as the primary MarTech leader across the commercial business
- Influence and align senior stakeholders across marketing, sales, IT, DT, and business leadership
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, interoperability, and shared standards across platforms and data
Team Leadership
- Build and scale a high-performing MarTech function, including hiring, development, and performance management as the capability evolves
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of experience in marketing technology, digital marketing, or related disciplines, with a strong emphasis on MarTech strategy, platforms, and operations
Preferred Qualifications
- 17+ years of relevant experience in marketing technology, digital marketing, or related disciplines, with a strong emphasis on MarTech strategy, platforms, and operations
- Deep understanding of the MarTech ecosystem, including marketing automation, customer data platforms (CDP), analytics, personalization, and content systems, as well as integration across enterprise architectures
- Proven experience defining and leading enterprise-scale MarTech strategy, including platform selection, implementation, integration, and lifecycle management
- Experience operating at the intersection of marketing, technology, and data, with a strong understanding of enterprise architecture and system integration principles
- Demonstrated ability to enable marketing and commercial strategies through scalable technology, data, and automation that drive measurable business outcomes, including pipeline and revenue impact
- Strong understanding of B2B marketing, customer buying journeys, and demand generation models, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable MarTech capabilities
- Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across multiple business units, functions, and geographies within a complex, matrixed organization
- Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives involving marketing, sales, IT, data, and external partners
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to inform strategy, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement
- Outstanding executive communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to operate effectively at senior levels of the organization
- High degree of ownership, business acumen, and ability to navigate ambiguity while driving clarity and results
- Demonstrated ability to lead transformation and innovation in complex environments through influence, prioritization, and strategic problem-solving
- Working knowledge of data privacy, consent management, and regulatory considerations as they relate to marketing technology and customer data
The base salary budgeted range for this position is $180-200k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. This position is remote with 10% travel.
